Perception: A determining influence on motivation.
When you are hungry you notice restaurants or billboards advertising food. If your car makes a funny noise you may notice garages, gas stations and mechanics repair shops; and if you don’t believe that you have what it takes to succeed, you will see barriers to success everywhere. So it is important to recognize how perception determines and influences our motivation.
I read an article recently which said that “what you see determines your beliefs”. When I first read that I was a little puzzled by it. Then it occurred to me why I didn’t agree with the statement because it is my beliefs that I am seeing, not the other way around. If I believe that life is difficult and money scarce, then that is what I must experience And yet that isn’t entirely true.
It is what I CHOOSE TO SEE which determines my experience; because life always has its difficulties and sometimes there are financial challenges. But if I am aware of how lack and scarcity are illusions that I consciously project based on a belief, then I can choose differently.
Each day that we move forward with our lives and recognize that we have a choice to believe in miracles instead of lack, we move further into the true light of our being. So if you struggle with being motivated, pause for a moment and take an honest look at how you are seeing at the situation; recognize that it may be a limiting and negative belief, then choose again.
