How to do more without doing more
Each morning before my workday begins, I sit quietly in meditation.
During this time, I disconnect from the resting state and reconnect with the conscious state. Following my breath, I take note of my surroundings, give thanks, and send gratitude to all that came before and all that is present to be received.
Life is abundant, and most of us are fortunate to have many opportunities to grow and experience all that life offers. Yet many of us find it challenging to include even one or two happiness-inducing lifestyle choices into our already busy schedules.
Through practice, I have found it helpful to create a two-week action schedule that includes the must-do, the want-to, and the might-do. By taking the time to introduce activities into our schedule, which seem out of reach for most busy people, we can slowly incorporate those ever-elusive activities we never seem to find the time for.
Just don't overschedule yourself. Life happens between the gaps, and when we give ourselves lots of breathing room, we won't feel overwhelmed and can't say we're too busy.
The commitment to sticking to a two-week schedule develops during the time we take to create the two-week schedule - we feel what works for us and adjust our action schedule until we can say YES.
After all, it's just for two weeks. Here's to living life to its fullest!
