Permission to Begin Where I Am

My oldest son, Kalei, created a beautiful profile picture for me to use with the help of AI. When I saw the picture, I got so excited. That’s the business I want to create; that’s the joy I want to ship. The possibilities are endless! But then, fear and doubt showed up, “I’m not ready. I’m a phony. I’m always trying to be more than I am.” Gosh darn it!

But then…I think, why not just take a risk and do something, just a few things!? I don’t have to do it ALL right now. I can sew a few bags, create a few designs, keep blogging and continue working on developing the ALOHA workshop. Teach what I know in my heart.

Thank you, ego, for trying to keep me safe, but let me go. Give me the chance to succeed!

Ideas on how I can support myself: Drink a cup of coffee when you wake up, but don’t sit in front of the TY - sit in front of your computer or sewing machine! Just sew two bags a day - a large one and a small one. Sew your strip bag idea with the material you already have. Use the #$^% material you have been carrying around with you for years! Use it! Redo the larger bags you have already made. Find a way to do the quilt designs. Complete what you’ve started. Just one sewing project!

Summer is just around the corner. Set yourself up to be successful this coming spring, summer, and fall. Do a little every day. Learn from little mistakes.

The more you do it the better you will get at it. Believe in YOU!

Start here. Start where you’re at.  What a cliché… but true.

I believe we can.
